6 Essential Songs From Phyno’s Latest Album, “Deal With It”

Phyno remains one of the best and hottest guys in the Nigerian music industry, as it is. The old guy has paid his dues, grinding hard from day one, until he became a commercially successful artist and critically acclaimed musician.

He released his first album, back in 2014 and since then, it’s being hits non stop. He’s had collaborations with big dawgs and has made solo hits, also released his well accepted sophomore, “The Playmaker” in 2016.

By all standards, Phyno doesn’t have anything to prove to anyone in this industry, because he’s done it all and is now a veteran. So if he can’t just do music, have fun, burst brains, why do it at all?

A few days has gone since his third album, “Deal With It” was shared, and it’s been trending on different platforms, online. Here are six songs from the album you should definitely check out, though. Even if you don’t have the whole album.

Ojimo (Prod. By Kel P)

Kel P is one hell of a producer, we know that already, after all his works with Burna Boy. That Phyno could hook up with him and do some stuff, that’s probably not something anyone would have guessed. But it was amazing.

“Ojimo” which has a dancehall-infused afrobeat sound is that kind of club banger you won’t stop vibing to, all day. It’s got a contagious feel, a lit instrumental and Phyno riding the waves. So cool.

Blessings feat. Olamide, Don Jazzy

Every album has a gospel song, these days, right? Well, if there’s anything that will amount to a ‘gospel’ vibe on this album, it would definitely be “Blessings.”

The song features his frequent collaborator, Olamide (he actually has a whole album with him) and Mavins boss and legendary producer, Don Jazzy, as they all thank Jesus for the way he’s blessed them. Lifting.

Ka Anyi Na Yo ft. Teni

Teni is a good singer, and if you’re doing good music, it’s only normal you consider bringing in a vocalist like Teni to do some magic work for you.

This is not the first time Phyno and Teni are on a song together, and it sure isn’t bad at all. If he’s doing singles and videos, my guess is “Ka Anyi Na Yo” would most likely be considered.

Ka Ife O

Remember the Phyno of 2014, the rapper with all the sauce and juice, and all those concepts, spitting bars on very hot instrumental. Well, “Ka Ife O” is reminiscent of those days.

Uwam feat. Zoro

The songs stands as the most impressive hip-hop track on the body of work, with Phyno rapping some real life bars on it. Even if it doesn’t get the hype it deserves, you should put this on your playlist, for sure.

Zoro is like the next on the list when you talk about Igbo rap, after Phyno. And there is no rivalry, as we know. Zoro is good, Phyno is good, and they both do their thing on a song together.

The fact that Phyno decided to put this on his album tells us, he deserves more respect than we’re already giving him. Not that Zoro isn’t a big fish on his own, though.

Deal With It

This intro and title track is just like a reminder to us all that Phyno may look or sound soft these days, but he isn’t. Man still got fire!
